Premiership Report: Dec. 11

Though still peerless and six points to the good, manchester united showed just a hint of vulnerability this weekend that might give some a bit of heart. 3-1 up against charlton with ten minutes to go they allowed the opposition to pull the two goals back and earn an improbable draw. taking full advantage arsenal put five past newcastle, including a hat-trick from ray parlour that should bring their recent shyness in front of goal to an end. plenty of goals at bradford too as the bantams scrapped their way to a 3-3 draw with spurs in a very tough encounter. Craig bellamy struck for coventry to give them a much-needed 1-0 victory over leicester who are trying to get old man roberto mancini on loan from lazio. leeds were also on the wrong end of a 1-0 scoreline as they crashed surprisingly to southampton making footytalk wonder what the hell is going on. ever-improving west ham drew 1-1 with aston villa while manchester city put five past everton which doubtless left big grins on the faces of former everton boys joe royle and richard dunne. less happy was terry venables whose first game in charge of middlesboroguh was a 1-0 defeat at sunderland who go fifth. on sunday, liverpool, heskeyless and idealess were beaten 1-0 by ipswich, ending their unbeaten home record. click here for the latest premiership table.
